The air fryer is great for cooking some carrots until they are beautifully tender and loaded with flavor.
These carrots cook to be deliciously tender and are perfectly seasoned thanks to the salt and pepper. For a bit of extra flavor and looks, we sprinkle some parsley over the top.
A single batch of these carrots should feed roughly four to six people. I recommend serving them as a side dish to another meal such as a roast, casserole, or something similar. If you need to feed more people, you can easily double the recipe.
Any leftover carrots can be cut into pieces and used for another meal. For example, the leftover carrot, once diced, will work great in a risotto or pasta sauce. The cooked carrots should last in the refrigerator for two to three days.
If you want to slow things down, you can cook some delicious sweet carrots in the slow cooker. It is a winner dish, so I highly recommend giving it a try.
What to Serve with these Air-Fried Carrots
These carrots will work great as a side dish to a delicious pork roast. If you have a spare air fryer, you can cook the pork roast in one and these delicious carrots in another. Otherwise, using the traditional oven will yield great results.
You can use these carrots as a healthy replacement for potato fries or sweet potato fries. Of course, they are not the perfect replacement, but are worth a try if you want to make something healthier for dinner.
Our chicken marsala will work great with these carrots as a side dish. We already recommend serving the chicken with some green beans, so these air fryer carrot fries are perfect. It is certainly, worth a try if you love flavor-packed meals.
If you are looking for multiple side dishes, then you should also look at making cheesy cauliflower. It is the perfect side dish that matches quite nicely with these carrots. First, the cauliflower is steamed, and then a cheesy sauce is poured over the top.
Adjusting the Recipe for Your Taste Buds
For a little bit of extra flavor, you can add a touch of garlic and some extra herbs. Thyme, rosemary, or even some oregano is a great way to add a little hint of flavor. I recommend using fresh herbs for the best results but dried herbs will work just as well.
To turn these carrots into sweet carrots, simply add a tablespoon of brown sugar with the oil. I also recommend adding a little bit of melted butter with the rest of the ingredients. It is a delicious combination.
I made use of large carrots cut into bite-sized chunks. However, you can easily replace these with baby carrots instead. I recommend removing the tops as they may burn in the air fryer.
Personally, I do not peel the carrots but simply remove the top and ends of the carrots. However, you can remove the peel if you rather not leave it on.

Air Fryer Carrots Recipe
Ingredients
- 750 g (1.7 lb) carrots, cut into chunks
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Garnish
- 2 tsp parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F). It will take roughly five minutes to heat up.
- In a bowl, mix the carrots with the oil, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for 15 minutes. Shake the air fryer basket halfway through cooking.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Sprinkle with the chopped parsley.
- Serve & Enjoy.
Recipe Tips
- I use regular large carrots in the recipe, but you can replace them with whole baby carrots. I recommend removing the tops of the carrots.
- You can add other seasonings such as spices, herbs, and sauces to increase the amount of flavor.
- Do not overload the air fryer; otherwise, the carrots may cook unevenly.
Equipment I use
I use a 7.2L (6.6 qt) Air Fryer (Amazon | Walmart) for all the Air Fryer recipes that I have on this website. If you have a different-sized air fryer, you may need to adjust the recipe’s quantities and timings.
